UPDATED!
This year’s race will take place on Thursday 28th March at 6.45pm at Broadwood Avenue, Ruislip
Please register at the clubhouse by 6.30pm.
You compete entirely at your own risk.
All Club members are welcome to run, £3 fee for any non- member.
Through a combination of Easter being early and British Summer Time being adopted late, the start time of 6.40pm for the Wilkie Mile at Ruislip Lido on Thursday means starting in darkness and make the finish more than a little interesting for the officials!
For this year only, the mile will be moved to Broadwood Avenue, starting and finishing at the roundabout at the junction of Broadwood Avenue, Kings College Road and the entrance to Park Wood.
As the event will be held on the public highway (albeit a quiet one), you are once again reminded that you compete entirely at your own risk.
From 1500m / mile / 5K times achieved in the last year, competitors will be seeded into waves of around six and, starting at 6.45pm, waves will be sent off at 30-second intervals.
However, overall race placings will be decided on net times recorded so, even if someone is not seeded into the first wave, they are still able to win the event.
Please note, contrary to other notification, there is only one race.
HOLDERS: Men – Jason Steel 5:21
Women – Lesley Conway 6:52
Further details if required from Gavin Collett
Offers of help gratefully received from those that don’t wish to compete
