The SEAA Indoor Age Group Championships took place at Lee Valley on the 10th and 11th of January, bringing together athletes from across the region for one of the busiest fixtures of the indoor season. With a number of clubs from the region represented, the championships showcased a full programme of events and a vibrant, competitive atmosphere throughout the weekend.
For some athletes, particularly those at the start of their competitive journey, this may have been their first experience of racing and competing in our regional indoor arena. The Lee Valley track presents normal indoor challenges, offering valuable lessons in race craft – from negotiating the steeply banked bends to maintaining discipline in the narrow, tightly spaced lanes. Experiences like these are an important part of athlete development and contribute to the learning curve that comes with stepping up to championship-level competition.
Hillingdon had several athletes taking part over the two days. Our medal haul was not as high as some years but our athletes showed up & took part. Congratulations to them all.
