Monday 5th May saw 16 Hillingdon Athletic Club athletes take part in the Pednor 5. Conditions were favourable over the 5 mile course which took runners along country roads with a total elevation gain of 92 metres, most part due to a steep climb at the 2 mile mark!
James Laing won the race in a time of 26:06, marking his 3rd Pednor 5 victory. Congratulations James!
Alex Giffin was the next HAC athlete home in a time of 32:09, finishing 3rd M50. Hannah Laing was the first female HAC athlete home in a time of 32:17. Freya Hollingsworth was the next female HAC athlete home in 37:07.
The results see HAC finish 5th overall in the men’s team results and 3rd overall in the women’s team results – Well done all!
Despite James’ full 25 Summer Series point haul at Pednor, Jeff Shotton has increased his lead at the top of the Summer Series tables with a total of 64 points. James rises to 2nd place with a total of 50 points, closely followed by Alex Giffin with 48 points. Patrick Griffin, Andrew Murphy and Ed Harrison all picked up their first Summer Series points following the Pednor 5.
The competition is ramping up in the female competition! Zoe Dobbs and Michaela Mayor are tied for the lead with 60 points each! Hannah Laing claimed 25 points from Pednor and has risen her total to 50 points, closely followed by Nikki Penty-Alvarez and Liz Hutchinson.
The next Summer Series fixture is the 5km Training Race on Thursday 8th May, which is followed by Jenny’s chilli potatoes!
