Saturday 10th June was a VERY hot Saturday, 30 degrees and it’s the day of the school county championships across the country. Middlesex Schools championship was held at Lee Valley and lots of athletes were chasing times for qualifying to ESAA later in the month.
Hillingdon had several athletes competing and there were several PB’s on the day. There was a little bit of wind during the day, which meant some races had an illegal wind, but on the whole a successful day.
Two Hillingdon athletes have subsequently been chosen to represent Middlesex at the English Schools Championship, which is being held in Alexander Stadium, Birmingham on the 30th June & 1st July.

The English Schools Championship is the 4th biggest athletics event held annually in the world and it is a remarkable achievement to qualify considering there are 6.8million pupils of secondary school age in England. The event will be broadcast live and they will get to perform in a stadium used for international events in front of thousands of spectators against the best athletes in England.
Congratulations to our athletes and we wish them well for the event.
