Met League Race 4 Senior Results

On a frosty but sunny winter afternoon at Welwyn Garden City, 16 ladies survived out of a field of 176, not only the challenging 3.5 lap course but a swarm of men as their race started far too early given the short first lap!

Catriona came 16th for the third race in a row – unbelievable consistency! Followed by Hannah, Nikki, Katie, Freya and Mel who made up the A team.

The B team consisted of Caroline, Zoe, Lynn, Karen and Stephanie, whilst the C team consisted of Ellie, Pauline, Ruth and Vicky.

More good points generated by all of you, thank you. On the VET side all 10 ladies eligible generated points however due to lower numbers than at Uxbridge we missed out on gaining more points in the C team.

As a result, of some strong performances from other clubs some of our teams have slipped down the tables, particularly Senior C team now 2nd plus Vet A & C team dropping a number of places. However, with one race to go the Vet B team remain 1st with a probable unassailable lead of 100+ points.

We need a strong turnout at Trent next month to ensure that the great performances over the last four races are not in vain!

A big thank you to the 24 men who raced for the club in the Met League at Welwyn Garden City on Saturday.

This season the fixture at Welwyn Garden City is the only cross-country race on the fixture list outside of the M25 and so to have 24 men competing for the club at this fixture was some achievement.

The A team finished 10th in Division One, the B team 12th in Division Two and the C team 15th in Division Two and this puts the A team in 10th overall in Division One and the B and C teams 11th and 15th overall in Division Two with one Met League fixture remaining!
