Met League Trent Park- Womens report

My sincere thanks to the 15 ladies who started and completed the last Met League XC race at the mudbath that was Trent Park!

Our aim for the Senior Ladies B team was to get more 6 points than London Frontrunners and overtake them for the last position above the two relegation places in divison 2. We didn’t!

HOWEVER- we did get 78 points more than Thames Valley Harriers (who were above the Frontrunners) to leapfrog them into the safety of 10th position in twelve team division 2 and retain our position therein. Well done ladies!!!

On the other side of the coin our pleas for a strong turnout for the Vets team to keep our C team in division two went unheeded and with only 9 Vets ladies competing, our C team consisted of just one lady and we finished a long way last and tamely drop into division three.

For the record our finishers in a field of 182 were:

Catriona Paterson 28th, Sister Heather 40th, Nikki Penty-Alvarez 59th, Captain Mel Spencer 84th, Karen O’Rourke 108th, Zoe Dobbs 116th, Ellie Henderson 122nd, Pauline Fischer and Elise Delrange in 128th and 129th, Lynn Hyde and Stephanie Suntong in 134th and 135th, Coach Vicky Brownlee 168th, Ruth Costelloe 173rd, Alice Coburn 176th and Lucy Duncan in 180th.

My thanks to everyone who has turned out and run this season, and I cannot think of anyone who having started, has failed to finish a race this year. The new season starts again in October, at Claybury.

Keep fit and stay healthy!
