Rob Thompson

Hillingdon AC’s senior men’s team were out in force on a bright autumnal day in Stevenage with 36 finishers in the men’s race out of a total field of 355. Matt Fayers was first scorer for the club and first Under 20 in the race finishing in a personal best position of seventh in a high quality field as the men’s team closed out the A team scoring 12 with Richard Jenkin in 164th place to finish in sixth place in Division One.

The men had a stronger team lineup than at the previous Met League at Woodford with the addition of Richard Jenkin and 8th scorer Tom Hall to the first scoring twelve. As a consequence, the B team was also stronger with Simon Connell (167th) and Noel Hall (225th) as first and last scorer for the B team scoring eight. As a result the B team finished third in Division Three and have now moved up to third place in Division Three after two fixtures.

The women’s team were boosted by the return of Susan Miles to competitive action as she finished as first scorer in 20th place whilst there were cross country debuts for Beth Young, Christine Hall (guest), Sarah Nicolson and Lindsey Browne. With a strong team performance, the women finished as second placed team in Division Two and have now moved up to third place in Division Two after two fixtures.
