Met League Race Three, Uxbridge, 03/12/2022

Hillingdon AC’s men turned out in force at their home Met League cross country fixture with 27 athletes braving the ski slope and the river crossing on the two lap course at Hillingdon House Farm where a stronger A team performance saw the men finish eighth on the day in Division One. This moves the A team up to 11th in the league after three fixtures and keeps alive the chance of avoiding relegation from Division One at the end of the season.

The stronger turnout also boosted the performance of the B team who finished third on the day in Division Three and now sit 10th overall in Division Three while the club was just one athlete short of also fielding a complete C team.

Individually, Matt Whitfield was first scorer for the club in 37th place while a number of athletes marked their cross country debuts or seasonal cross country debuts for the team including Finn Combe (80th), Martin Bateman (130th), Steve Hirons (202nd), David Knight (222nd), Paul Leppard (228th), Spencer Harding (229th), Anthony Warnakulasuriya (245th) and Martin Searle (340th).
