Despite running in the shadows of HMP Wormwood Scrubs – Hillingdon Juniors took no prisoners! They were on fire as they raced in the barmy16 degree heat! The headline act were our U13 Boys, where we had 5 boys in the Top 25, with the team finishing in an amazing 2nd place!
There were also some outstanding individual performances:
Elsie Fitzgerald – 2nd U11 G
Dylan Lewis – 3rd U13 B
Edey Kestell – 8th U13 G
Amae Van Zyl – 8th U15 G
The Middlesex Team Managers commented on how well some of our athletes performed, so hopefully there may be a couple of juniors selected to compete in the upcoming intercounty competition.
A big thank you to our wonderful coaches for all their hard work preparing the athletes and to our brilliant parents, who were in great voice encouraging and cheering on the whole team.
The next race is our home event on 3rd December at Hillingdon – we need to build on the great results from yesterday if we are to be serious contenders in the league – so a good turnout is needed. Any juniors who have not yet raced in this year’s Met League and wishes to do so – please speak with your coach or contact Molly Healey for a number.
