Hillingdon AC had a very successful day at the fifth Summer Series race of the year at the Marlow 5 as the club won the individual race, thanks to Robert Thompson, the Men’s team race thanks to Rob, Martin Bateman and James Manley and the Men’s Vet 60 prize thanks to John Bignell.

Robert won the race with a new personal best time of 25:39 to finish 27 seconds in front of Matthew Salt of Dacorum & Tring with Paul Fernandez of Adingdon AC in third. Martin Bateman finished in fourth and James Manley in 15th to close out the team prize with 20 points in front of Bracknell Forest Runners and Reading Road Runners.

John Bignell finished 80th overall to win the Men’s Vet 60 prize with a time of 32:48 while Hillingdon AC were out in force with 13 club athletes finishing the race on a bright but blustery morning on the banks of the Thames.
