Langley Park Summer Series 2026

As the name suggests, this event comprises three 5km trail races held on Wednesday evenings in the picturesque Langley Country Park near Slough. The course boasts a 60m elevation gain and undulating gravel and grass terrain, often combined with the heat of a summer evening, making it a formidable challenge.

This year Hillingdon AC turned up in force with approximately a dozen HAC runners per race, thanks to Allen Tilly’s enthusiastic encouragement.

Charlie Edwards has been our champion in previous years, but unfortunately, due to injury, he couldn’t maintain his usual high standard. Thankfully, Harry Hopkins stepped up and led from start to finish in all three races, ultimately becoming the 2026 champion! 🏆

On the women’s side, debutant Kirsty O’Rouke secured first place in two of the three races, narrowly beaten by fellow HAC runner Nikki Penty-Alvarez in the third. Kirsty’s mother Karen O’Rouke claimed bronze overall.

Hillingdon AC emerged victorious in the overall team competition, which requires at least one female member in a team of three top-placed runners. Other category winners included Jeff Shotton in the M40 as runner-up, Steve Wells in the M70, Nikki Penty-Alvarez in the W35, and Karen O’Rouke in the W55.

A huge thank you to everyone who competed this year and a special thank you to the organising team and marshals! We look forward to seeing you all again next year!
