SEAA XC Championships

On a beautiful, sunny day last Saturday at Beckenham Place Park, four ladies tackled the meandering 8km course for the SEAA XC Championship race on 25th January. Catriona completed the course in a respectable 00.31.58 achieving 43rd place whilst Caroline achieved 160th place in 00.37.36 and Freya unfortunately due to illness had to retire. In the U20s despite starting five minutes late, Hollie nearly caught the last runner, a mere 43 seconds behind!

Recognition goes to Connell Metcalf 147th, Dan Thompson 259th, Jeff Shotton 445th, Paul Williams 472nd, Ed Harrison 524th, Alan Tilly 555th, Andrew Murphy 562nd and Trevor Steeples 474th who competed in the toughest cross country race on the club calendar, the South of England Cross Country Championships at Beckenham Place Park on 25th January. With only five finishers from the club in the men’s race last year, it was particularly pleasing to have eight athletes from the club competing to ensure that we finished a team in the six to score competition, finishing 31st out of 43 complete teams.

Well done all!
