Green Belt Relay Preview

This weekend, Hillingdon Athletic Club will field a team of 11 athletes to compete at the Green Belt Relay! This will be the 5th year that we’ve fielded a team, with previous entries in 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2024.

The Green Belt Relay is a 22-stage running relay around 220 miles of the Green Belt around the outside of London over a single weekend. Each runner will compete over 2 stages, with a run on both Saturday and Sunday.

Jeremy will start us off, running 12.7 miles from Hampton Court Palace. Runners will be transported by the vehicles of choice, dubbed ‘The Hokey Cokey’, ‘Italian Job’ and ‘Batmobile’!

Day 1 finishes at Blackmore, with Zoe running stage 11 over 7.5 miles, with the race cut off set at 8:08pm! We then head to Premier Inn for a freshen up and a meal out!

Day 2 starts at 8:00am, with Gabe starting us off from Blackmore over 10.7 miles! Bringing the end to our 2025 race will be Jeremy, running 7.1 miles from Walton Bridge to Bushy Park Sports Centre!

We’ve enjoyed success throughout the years:

2024: Catriona Paterson finished 1st in the Senior & V35 Women categories on stage 4.

2022: James Laing finished 1st in the Senior Men category on stage 16. Hannah Laing finished 1st in the Senior Women category on stage 10.
