Gosunder 2025

The Gosunder 2025 Handicap race will take place on Saturday 30th August at 15:30.

The Gosunder Handicap race has taken place since the mid 1950s. It is a race of 5 miles where the competitors start times are based on their recent form. The slowest competitor starts first, followed by the next slowest etc until the fastest competitor starts last. If the handicap works out correctly every competitor should finish at the same time.

Free entry for club member.

The trophy will be awarded to the first club member to cross the finishing line.

A £2 entry fee for non members.

Non members are not eligible to win the trophy.

Meet at the clubhouse at 14:30 to pick up your number.

Make you way to Mad Bess Wood for the start.

After the race return to the clubhouse for a BBQ and presentation of the trophy.

Please register for entry with Trevor Steeples or whatsapp by midnight Thursday 27th August.

Handicap times will be calculated based on your recent 5k training times or a recent parkrun time.

If you don’t want to run “The Gosunder Handicap” race but still want to be involved in the event you can. Volunteers will be required to marshall various points on the course. Please contact Trevor Steeples (Details above) if you can help in this way.

Thursday 11th June saw the 3rd 5km Training Race of the summer take place. James Laing was first to finish, fresh from a 12th place finish at the Swansea Half Marathon at the weekend, in 16:33.
