Golden Years

Matt Fayers golden performance leaves him running for the indoors reports Stevan Dokic.
Matts Junior G B x/c debut at the Edinburgh International on Saturday 5th January 2013 was his last x/c race this season. He now heads indoors to keep his speed and pace up for the summer track season. Matt was never thought of as a candidate for x/c racing at the top level. His improvement over the years has been noted by UKA. Even at the Edinburgh race he was ranked just in the top 20 yet finished 10th. He was 3rd G B athlete and just over 30 seconds behind the leader. Matts name seems to be just under the spotlight and the live T V only showed him at the back of the leading pack. The results only showed the top 8 with 2 G B athletes yet it would have been better to show 3 G B athletes in the top 10 ! Matt being 10th. Results here.
