A turnout of 51 runners and walkers took part in the 57th edition of The Hillingdon Athletic Club Christmas Morning Road Race.
Despite nine-time winner Rob Thompson being short of training leading up to the race, he managed to share the lead for over half the race. Then James Laing powered clear for his fifth victory in 16:14 in the 3.2 mile event (slightly over 5K), maintaining the Thompson/Laing monopoly that has dominated since 2010.
Back in sixth place overall, Catriona Paterson retained her women’s title in a spectacular 18:56, the fastest since 2012 and the eighth fastest ever in an event promoted by Hillingdon AC since it’s inception in 1966!
Many thanks to Gavin and Phil for officiating the race and all volunteers who assisted.
