The senior men finished the Met League off in style with strong results for both the A and B teams with the A team finishing fifth on the day in Division One and the B team finishing fourth on the day in Division Three. As a result, both teams moved up the in the overall league with the A team overtaking Thames Valley Harriers to finish sixth in Division One and the B team finishing the season in fourth place in Division Three.
The target at the start of the season was for the A team to finish in the top four places in Division One and the B team to finish in the top two places in Division Three but with Shaftesbury and London Heathside putting out strong teams in Division One and Highgate and London Heathside putting out strong B and C teams in Division Three, these targets were always going to be challenging and I am pleased with the overall result and what we have achieved as a club in this league over the course of the season – well done!
Many thanks to everyone who competed for the club in the Met League this seasonespecially those members who competed in all five races and in particular Robert Thompson, James Laing, Daniel Thompson and Martin Bateman who competed in all five races and made a big difference to the performance of the club as a whole by consistently finishing towards the front of the field.

Big thanks to Merchant Taylors School for providing the venue and to all the club members that competed and contributed to a great event.
On a sour note, a long list of members need to look long and hard in the mirror and see whether they think they should be a club member in the future.
Contributors & competitiors make for a successful club!
