Adam Ireland put another record on his list by racing the Junior 2K Pitshanger park run and getting the course record of 7.06 by 1 second on a twisting course, This was the park run headlines reports Stevan Dokic.
What a lovely, lovely morning it was for Pitshanger junior parkrun’s 40th instalment. After some light overnight rain, the sun well and truly got his hat on and, to make things even better, the huge pothole by the entrance to the carpark had been filled over the past week. How could the day get even better???
Well, it certainly did for Adam IRELAND. Last week’s first finisher (on his first run with us) had been just 4 seconds off the course record. On his return this week, and accompanied by some vital encouragement from his coach from Hillingdon Athletic Club, Adam seared round the course to beat the record by just one second (registering 7.06). The record had stood since event number 2 when Michael MORAN set the bar on a cool October morning in his only run with us. Here’s a snap of 11yr old Adam with 200m to go.
