Hillingdon AC’s Senior Men secured a top 10 finish at the South of England Cross Country Relays at Wormwood scrubs with a number of strong performances.

James Laing was Hillingdon’s top performer, recording 14.07 around the 2.8 mile course to record the ninth fastest time of the day with Alex Ozdemir (15.11), Liam Holbrook (15.56) and Simon Connell (15.44) making up the A team who finished tenth overall.

The B team, comprising of Dan Thompson (16.22), Paul Leppard (16.27), Jeremy Collis (17.19) and Steve O’Keefe (18.26) finished 22nd. The D team  – Graham Wood (22.53), John Doyle (22.20), Dave Newman (18.22) and Chris Ward (17.51) finished 30th and the C team – Trevor Steeples (21.01), John Bignell (21.28), Bob Burton (20.43) and Stevan Dokic (19.34) finished 31st of 31 complete teams.

Age Group Changes

From 1 April 2026, the age groups in which young athletes compete under UKA rules will change from U13, U15, U17 and U20, as is currently the case, to U14, U16, U18 and U20.
