My Road to London: Finding the Balance
They say life begins at 40, but for me, 50 was when the speed truly arrived. 2025 has been a “Golden Year”—a clean sweep of Personal Bests in the 5km, 10km, and Half Marathon, culminating in a 2:37:16 at the Valencia Marathon.
However, chasing that level of performance back-to-back comes with a price. After Valencia, I dove straight into this London block, and while the first half went well, the intensity eventually caught up with me. Between deep fatigue and a nagging hamstring issue, I’ve had to learn the hard way to listen to my body and trade stubbornness for sensibility.
A Different Kind of Race.

Because of that, London isn’t about chasing another PB. My goal this time is to run bravely but wisely, respecting the work I’ve put in since December while acknowledging the wear and tear I’m carrying. It’s about getting to the finish line knowing I gave everything I had on the day.
While the personal challenge is what drives me to the start line, I am grateful for the opportunity to raise money for Cancer Research UK. It is a cause that carries immense weight, as cancer continues to affect so many of our families and friends. Knowing that these miles help fund life-saving research adds a layer of purpose to the journey—especially when the legs get heavy.
Thank you for your support and for being part of this journey with me.
