Valencia Marathon

With Rob seemingly taking his role as team manager a little too seriously, he left straight from scrubs to the airport, much to the disappointment of the passengers sat next to him, all in the name of gathering crucial intel for the 12-stage road relays.

Paul Wood – 2:37:16
At this point we may need a dedicated statistician just to keep up with Paul’s achievements.
2nd V50 Brit, 21st V50 overall, 11th on the 2025 UK V50 rankings, and a 3-minute PB.
If anyone would, Paul Wood.

Ryan Hamdy – 2:37:59
A 14-minute PB from the man who kept insisting, “Ah I just want to get round and have a bit of fun.”
Absolute lies. Everyone knew what was coming.
PBs in 5k, 10k, and HM on the way in? Worst kept secret at Hillingdon.

Travis Bowcambe – 2:39:20
Only a 12-minute PB, but more importantly beat his brother by 7 minutes.

Harry Hopkins – 2:44:16
Over 5 minutes off his PB while “returning from injury” and dodging long runs like they’re private school boy initiation games.
Achilles needs ice, but Harry didn’t – he was as cool as a toff in red jeans with his bucket hat.

Dom Speight – 2:59:47
Sub-3 by the thickness of a gel wrapper.
Reports of “DONDE ESTA LA CERVEZA?” echoing through the final mile remain unconfirmed…

Richard Mann – 3:01:43
Marathon debut and SO close to sub-3 on the eve of his 35th birthday. Is this the double dip peak in form we’ve been waiting 20 years for??

Joe Carton – 3:08:01
Another blast from the past, perhaps committing to the phrase “bury yourself” a little too much as he needed crutches afterwards.

Jeff Shotton – 3:45:06
Man-flu. Claimed he “could barely walk.” Proceeded to run a marathon anyway. Truly the patron saint of dramatic pre-race excuses.

Andy Murphy – 3:58:09
Having missed lots of training through injury he still wanted to give the race a go. And was rewarded with a sub 4 clocking, whilst running a negative split in the process!

Chloe Charles – 3:30:57 Another to add to the list of PB’s!

Freya Hollingsworth – 3:31:29
Despite wanting to go quicker, she still managed a 2 minute PB.

THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT!!!

p.s message me if you ran and I missed you off my report

Many thanks for the reports as ever, Rob!
