Fraternity & Sorority Cup

Some say this is the peak of athletic performance. Player – come – manager winning on his first season in charge. Name a more iconic manager, I’ll wait…

For fear of sounding even more narcissistic than usual, I will cut straight to the chase. Rob Thompson won the Fraternity Cup.

Moving swiftly onto his little big brother Dan, who had a sturdy run finishing 30th and looking every bit like a man who will remind you he’s done an ironman if you give him even the slightest opportunity.

Next through was Big Jeff Shotton in 63rd. Jeff appears to be physically incapable of tapering, arriving just two weeks out from his Valencia Marathon “A” race while still double-day-racing. No complaints from this team manager though.

Ed Harrison followed with a solid run in 106th, banking valuable reconnaissance for the upcoming Trent Park Met League fixture later this season.

Just behind was Alan Tilly in 124th, fuelled by adrenaline after missing the Southern Masters XC entry deadline. Nothing motivates quite like the sting of an email titled “Entry Closed.”

The ever-reliable Trevor Steeples closed the team out with another solid run in 163rd proving that consistency is king and Trevor is its loyal servant.
