Veteran Mens Track And Field Season 2017.

With our 4th and final match now completed on Wednesday 12th July the Hillingdon Ac Veterans Men’s team finished the season in an excellent 2nd place overall.

The 1st match was at Battersea with the highlight of the night winning all the age group 400m races one after the other and great performances all round. We finished 2nd here on the night, Unfortunately Phil Octave pulled up injured on his 4x400m relay leg, rupturing his Achilles, and we all wish him the best and hope he recovers well.
We finished a close 2nd to Herne Hill on the 2nd and 3rd meetings at Hillingdon and Battersea and with the final match at Perivale on July 12th we just needed to consolidate 2nd place overall here to maintain our finishing place.
With a great group of Athletes turning up and covering nearly every event and a few away for this fixture we did well just being pushed into a very close 3rd by Serpentine.  So Overall 2nd place for the Men’s team this season which gives us a very strong platform to build for next year.

Well done to all who turned up and competed for the team. All Results for the 4 meetings are on the Power Of Ten Website. Written by Jason Steel
