Same old course

17 athletes from the club contested the Fraternity Cup at Trent Park, Cockfosters on Saturday reports Stevan Dokic. The actual course must be one of the only courses that has virtually the same old route. The only notable change was how dry it was. Compared with the usual boggy areas. Thanks to Graham Wood for standing in as team manager for the day.

Chris Ingram was first finisher for the club in 15th place whilst the scoring team of six comprised of Daren Roscoe (28th), Andy Miles (41st), Andrew Paterson (45th), Pete Warburton (47th) and Stevan Dokic (51st) of 87 finishers. The team competition was won by London Heathside and the Hillingdon AC A team finished seventh of 12 complete teams.  Full results may be found here.

The Following day at the Bedford 1/2 marathon Robert Thompson made his debut. On a tough course Robert produced a quality run of 1.11.11 coming 5th in a group of athletes that usually sub 70 minutes. Also racing was Mike Dooley V45 coming 25th in 1.19.49, James Manley (on his Marathon training) 87th 1.27.07, Gary Taylor on his return ran 1.43.12. Full results here.
