Hillingdon Atheltic Club were well represented at the Pednor 5 on Bank Holiday Monday, with 13 members turning out to contest valuable Summer Series points in one of the club’s key early-season fixtures.

Dave Smith continued his excellent form, bettering his category position from Beaconsfield 5 by taking 1st place in the M60 category with another outstanding performance on the challenging course!

At the front of the HAC field, Tim McBride led the club home with a superb run to finish as 9th man overall, narrowly missing out on the M40 cup in a highly competitive race.

Zoe Dobbs was HAC’s sole female finisher and produced another strong performance, crossing the line as 18th female overall while also securing 4th place in the Hertfordshire Veterans Championship standings, narrowly missing out on the podium places.

In the team competition, HAC’s men combined well to secure 4th place overall, finishing just two points behind Queens Park Harriers in a closely contested battle.

The latest results have tightened the race for the Men’s Summer Series battle, with Dave Smith and Alex Giffin now tied at the top of the standings on 49 points apiece. Charlie Edwards remains closely behind in third place with 40 points.

In the Women’s competition, however, there has been little movement but at the top, with Zoe Dobbs extending her advantage. Two maximum points scores, combined with two attendance points, leaves Zoe on a commanding total of 52 points – a nod to the importance of attendance over the Summer Series! Zoe’s score is currently the highest tally across both the Men’s and Women’s competitions.
