Hillingdon Athletic Club - Joining Juniors

We are a friendly club which offers junior athletes the opportunity to train and compete across the range of athletic disciplines. We also welcome their parents and carers, who are encouraged to become involved in athletics as helpers, officials, coaches and athletes themselves. Our training sessions are held at Hillingdon Athletics Stadium, Gatting Way, Uxbridge, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

We are currently operating at full capacity, but welcome enquiries from potential new athletes, aged 9 years and above, who will be added to our waiting list and as spaces become available will be invited to a try-out.

The try-out

The try-out, which is kept as relaxed as possible, lasts approximately 60-90 minutes. During this time potential junior athletes are split into small groups with other children of similar age and are encouraged to take part in activities across the athletic disciplines of running, jumping and throwing; enabling the coaches to assess their potential.

At the try-out, new parents will also be able to find out more about how the club works and the commitments expected by Hillingdon AC of all athletes. This includes the criteria set to become a member and the attendance and competition criteria that all athletes agree to adhere to when they become members. Try-outs are scheduled on a regular basis, but unfortunately we are unable to provide timescales for when an athlete will be invited to a try-out. 

To add your child’s details to the waiting list, can you please complete the following form. Your child’s details will be entered onto the database and you will be sent details for the trial within due course. Please do not pay your membership fee until you have been advised to do so following the try out.
