Hillingdon AC was in dominant form at the Hillingdon Half marathon, as the event staged a welcome and successful return after an absence of 10 years from the racing calendar reports Scott Farley.
The race was won by Rob Thompson in an impressive time of 70:42 with James Laing in second place just over a minute further back. Their performances, combined with Mike Dooley in 8th position and Scott Farley in 14th, ensured the club won the men’s team prize. Rob and James also picked up medals for the Middlesex half marathon championships.
Hillingdon AC’s first female was Eva Mack in 1:30:25 and overall the women’s team finished second behind Thames Valley Harriers. The club was well represented throughout the event with many athletes achieving personal best times on a fast and flat course that started and finished on the Brunel University campus.
