Great Hillingdon Runs

Great runs came from Hillingdon AC in the Great South Run on Sunday 28 October. HAC Member & Olympian Julia Bleasdale  was ninth in the ten-mile women’s race in 55: 35 minutes, departing from her normal 10K or 5K in a major event, although her Olympian team mate Jo Pavey won in 53 minutes with a clear lead.

There were 20, 000 runners or so in this high profile race in Portsmouth and Hillingdon club runners certainly kept the red striped vest in the front sections.

Dave Martin led them with a respectable 71:44 (818th) minutes , Clive Wickham, despite knee problems, made 1351st place with 74.52, Lesley Conway ran a personal best of 77.34, 2007th, Andy Maton 83.17, 3815th, Lucy Duncan 85.55, 4781st and Angela Duncan 94.07, 7958th. Our female vets did particularly well in that Angela was second in her female age group (70-74 years) and Lesley was fourth in hers (55-59).
