Gerry Archer

It is with great regret that I must inform you that Gerry Archer passed away on Tuesday. It is thought that the cause was a heart attack but we understand that he passed quickly and peacefully. Funeral details to follow.

Below is a fitting tribute from Martin Bateman

A true old school HAC legend. An athlete going back way before the days when his club, Ruislip & Northwood AC, merged with Finchley Harriers in 66 to form HAC. Over the years he was a club president, committee member, coach, time keeper and supporter. He was my coach for almost 10 years and road and XC manager for more. Many an hour he spent out in all weathers for the group and the teams he managed and he battled ill health to still make it to sessions and races for us. A gentleman with a dry wit, he rarely compromised and was rarely pleased, but he was always a pleasure to be with. RIP Gerry!!!
