17 year old Matt Fayers once again broke his u/20 1500m club record plus setting the 4th fastest time in HAC history with a quality performance 0f 3.46.56 at Trafford, Manchester reports Stevan Dokic.
Matt managed to get an entry into the ‘A’ Gold standard British Milers Club race on Sunday 22nd April as his improvement over the year reflects that he needs top quality opposition. Matt was lined up against Internationals and quality experienced racers. Not being to fazed, but up for the challenge, Matt was the slowest on paper. Matt’s ‘job’ was to get a P B and use this as a stepping stone to a new level. Gaining experience is an important stage in his development as a middle distance racer at the highest level he can achieve. Racing 3.46.5 was a fantastic run and is only the start for a new season in 800 and 1500 racing. Our national history in these distances will once again shine, and we will not get distracted!
