Every cloud has a silver lining reports Stevan Dokic.
Matthew Fayers took a well earned silver medal in the U20 1500m final on Sunday. Matt had qualified for the final easily the previous day in a shade over 4 minutes and set about hunting gold in the medal race. Thecontest up to the bell was very congested with athletes running in lane 3 throughout. Matt found himself boxed in with 200m to go but a gap appeared on the inside and he burst through with a sprint and closing the leaders to gain silver in 3.52.88 against 3.52.68 by the winner, Robbie Farnham-Rose of Tonbridge AC. One notable senario was at the end of the presentation a crowd of about 10 people gathered around Matt for his autograph! They can see what I can see.
