The first Alder Valley of 2012 saw the boys facing cold and very wet conditions at Bracknell reports Alison Alford. Unfortunately due to the weather, there were quite a very absentees but it was great to see so many smiling faces and parents cheering the team on.
Harrison Filby (U11) ran an excellent 1000 metres to finish 1st in 3m 45, followed very closely by Gregor Nordstrum in 3rd place in 3m 48. Sam Frazer (U15) winning the 100m in 13.2 and Niall Bowler (U17) setting a new PB in the High Jump of 1.65. In their final year as U17’s Alan Davidson and Connor Feek had a point to prove. They both won their 200m respectively with also excellent placings in the 100m. A big thank you to both of them for agreeing to fill the gaps in the 400m and gaining valuable points for the team. The U17 relay was the last event of the day and we finished in 1st place.
At such an early stage of the season, it was great to see so many PB’s being set. These were Oscar Chan (U15’s 100m & LJ), Josh Malyan, (U15 100m & U15 800m), Sebastian Mills (U13, 100m & 1500m), Alex Barker (U17, 200m & LJ), Liam Holbrook (U15, 200m & U15, 800m), Adam Jones (U15, 200m & JT), Tommy Pike (U15, 1500m), Michael How (U13, 75mh), Niall Bowler (U17, HJ & LJ), Kevin Acraman (U17 Discus), Arron Connell (U13 Javelin),
Out of 9 teams, we finished 5th place with 252 points so a big well done to everyone
