Windsor Great Park Dash 10km

This race was a regular in the summer series when I first joined Hillingdon AC, writes Dave Smith. It was known then as the Datchet Dash, then became the Dorney Dash, until its new incarnation in the Great Park  for the first time in 2012. Back there this year for the second time I couldn’t resist entering, so that I had run the race on all three courses. I wasn’t dissapointed, with the race being run over a challenging but picturesque course. The 351 finishers were rewarded for their efforts on the final stretch with a stunning view as they came down off the monument and were able to look along the long avenue to the castle. Paul Hull finished 5th ( 4th Male) in 40:55. Dave Smith finished 25th in 44:28. Although it was fifteen years ago that I first came across the Datchet Dash I am glad to say that I remain competitive finishing 2nd V50. I will be back next year.
