Teddy Hall Relays, Oxford, 06 March 2013

Hillingdon AC had eighteen athletes in action at the Teddy Hall Relays in Oxford as the club pitted itself against some of the best University teams in the country over the traditional 3.6 mile race route.

In the men’s race, the RAF won the four to score team race for the first time finishing 24 seconds in front of Oxford University with Cambridge University a further one and a half minutes back in third. Hillingdon AC’s A team finished 19th thanks to Martin Bateman (19:00), Richard Mann (20:13), Carl Yates (21:58) and Paul Leppard (21:43).

The C team finished 52nd comprising of John Bignell (23:15), Pete Warburton (22:39), Dave Smith (23:20) and Hannah Wells (24:35).

The B team finished 124th thanks to Bob Burton (26:16), Alan Wells (30:30), John Luscombe (27:28) and Martin Searle (23:55).

153 men’s teams competed.

Hillingdon AC had one team entered in the mixed team competition. The race was won by Oxford University and Hillingdon AC finished 44th out of 48 teams thanks to Steve Thompson (29:02), Angela Duncan (32:46), Lucy Duncan (29:39) and John Doyle (28:25).

Wendy Harbottle ran 27:37 in an incomplete team and Richard Jenkin ran 21:49 in a composite team comprising of members of his training group.
