Hillingdon AC’s senior men finished 17th at the SEAA Cross Country Relays at Wormwood Scrubs thanks to strong runs from Phil Warburton, Abdirahman Hamud and Edward Spencer over the four stage 4km course.
After losing a number of athletes in the days leading up to the race, the club was just short of fielding two complete teams with Phil, Abdi, Edward and Paul Leppard completing the A team and Pete Warburton, Tony Grant and Stevan Dokic competing for an incomplete B team. Performance of the day came from Abdi who ran the eighth fastest time overall and the third fastest time on leg 2 as he gained eight places to bring the team up to their highest position within the race of ninth.
