With both the St Albans Cross Country Relays and the Horsenden Hill Relays missing from the calendar of early season races this year, Hillingdon AC’s Senior Men took advantage of the local staging of the South of England Cross Country Relays at Wormwood Scrubs to give members the opportunity to compete in cross country conditions against quality opposition before the forthcoming challenge of the Met League.
Fielding four teams of four, the highlight was the performance of the A team who finished eighth of the 29 teams to finish, thanks to James Laing, Robert Thompson, James Manley and Scott Farley, reaching a high point of fourth after leg two after strong runs from James and Rob, whilst there were a number of encouraging performances from new and returning members in the B, C and D teams.
