Middlesex 2016

Hillingdon AC’s senior men’s team continued their good run of results in the Middlesex Cross Country Championships, finishing second behind a very strong Highgate Harriers to claim silver medals by just a point from third placed team London Heathside at Wormwood Scrubs.

As defending champions, hopes were high that Hillingdon AC may be able to retain the county championship title but Highgate Harriers simply proved too strong on the day as they finished their six scorers within the first 22 places.

Rob Thompson was first scorer for the club in sixth place, Adbi Abdulle was 10th, James Laing 11th, Martin Bateman 19th, Ed Campbell 32nd and Dan Thompson 41st as Hillingdon AC scored 119 points to Highgate’s 74 and London Hearthside’s 120. This result means that Rob, James and Dan have claimed either gold or silver team medals in each of the last four Middlesex Cross Country Championships.

Hillingdon had 22 athletes competing in the Senior Men’s race out of a total field of 179.
