Hillingdon AC had a very successful day at the Middlesex 10K Championships on 27 September with a number of athletes winning team and individual medals.

Hillingdon AC won the senior men’s race by a narrow margin of 18 points to 20 as they just pipped Victoria Park & Tower Hamlets to gold, thanks to Rob Thompson (third in the individual race), James Laing (sixth) and Martin Bateman (ninth) while with only three to score in the team competition, Dan Thompson just missed out on a medal finishing 13th.

The Vet 50 men won silver medals, missing out on gold by a single point behind London Heathside with Pete Warburton (third Vet 50), Dave Smith and Dave Newman making up the team whilst there was individual success for Stephanie Wigram – third in the senior women’s race, Mike Dooley who finished second in the Vet 40 competition and Simon Connell, third Vet 40.

Hillingdon AC had a total of 19 athletes competing at these championships including club debuts for Gary Horn and Mathew Taylor.
