Hillingdon AC’s Senior Men finished ninth in the first Met League race of the season at Claybury with a number of strong performances from athletes marking their club cross-country debut.
Despite a reduced turnout of only 18 finishers, Hillingdon AC’s senior men still managed to finish ninth in Division One with the B team finishing seventh in Division Three. The highlights were a 17th place for Matt Whitfield on his club cross-country debut, top 100 finishes for James Laing (41st), Dominic Speight (96th) and Dan Thompson (98th) and club debuts for Will Sawtell (104th), Guy Green (155th), Jeff Shotton (284th) and Patrick Griffin (304th).
Elsewhere there were welcome returns to competition from Clive Wickham (237th), Rob Poulter (291st) and Gary Horn (328th).
