Horsenden Hill

Another strong turnout from Hillingdon AC’s senior men at the fourth Met League fixture of the season in cold and muddy conditions at Horsenden Hill saw the A team finish in fifth place in Division One and the B team finish in second place in Division Three. This result means that the A team have strengthened their position of fifth place overall in Division One, while the B team are now in a very good position to achieve promotion, sitting in second place in Division Three after four of five fixtures.

Rob Thompson was the first finisher for the club in 18th position followed by James Laing (23rd), Abdi Nageeye (26th), Martin Bateman (38th), Ed Campbell (59th) and the much improved Dan Thompson in 62nd place. Andy Bryce finished just outside the top hundred in 101st place on his club debut with Simon Connell (115th), Paul Leppard (134th), Phil Warburton (162nd), Wes Godfrey (183rd) and Joel Pope (194th) completing the scoring 12 for the A team.

Andy Moore marked his club debut as first scorer for the B team in 203rd as the B team packed in their eight scorers in the space of just 42 places and comprising of Dave Newman (207th), Paul Hull who marked his Met League debut for the season after returning from injury in 208th, Gary Horn (218th), Abdulqadir Sharifal (224th), Steve Hirons (229th), Dave Smith (242nd) and Rik Karadir (245th).

Elsewhere, there was a club debut for Kamal Pachhai in 406th place. In total, Hillingdon AC had 36 finishers in the senior men’s race out of a total field of 406.
