London Cross Country Championships, Parliament Hill, 19/11/2022

Hillingdon AC’s Senior Men finished 19th team at the London Cross Country Championships on a challenging Parliament Hill course with Matt Whitfield winning gold as first Vet 40.

Contested over 10km, Matt was in or around the first 20 places from the beginning of the race, eventually finishing as first scorer for the club in 24th place and first V40 overall. Behind Matt, Dominic Speight (130th), Dan Thompson (137th) and Guy Green (160th) had their own private battle with Dan getting an early lead before being passed by Dominic in the closing stages while Guy had either Dominic or Dan in sight for most of the race.

Trevor Steeples was the club’s sole V60 competitor, finishing 415th to extend his lead in the V60 Winter Points Table competition.
