Julia Bleasdale got back to competition after the highs of her great performances in the Olympic 5 and 10K races with the women’s 3000m race at the Birmingham Diamond League meeting. Julia once again showed strength and tactical awareness in the race and only her lack of a kick in the final lap relevant to that of the outstanding Kenyan women meant she finished 6th with a club record time of 8:46.38, just 5 seconds behind Mercy Cherono.
