Saturday 1st December saw 21 ladies turn up for the home Met League fixture at Uxbridge reports Freya Hollingsworth.
Hoping for sun and smiles, instead we were greeted with drizzle, clouds and thigh deep water to ‘run’ through. Spirits were high as we all got ready to tackle the ski slope and smash it!
Zoe came fully prepared to swim across the River Pinn; goggles and swimming hat included. Christina took off her dry robe for a full 30 minutes of racing up and down the ski slope, but at least she kept warm and dry unlike the rest of us.
Many of the ladies team ended up swimming through the River Pinn, a few lucky survivors just ended up with soggy shorts; clearly the more comfortable option?
We also made a fuss of our number one fan on his 86th birthday – Happy Birthday Harry!
Well done to all 21 ladies who turned up, climbed, raced and swum for the club! Make a note in your diaries for the next Met League race at Wormwood Scrubs on Saturday January 12th 2019. See you at the start not before 1.55pm!
