Prior to the race we held a minutes silence to remember club member Sally Bundock, who sadly passed away earlier in the day . Sally regularly participated in the 5km training race and with her husband Frank stayed to take part in the quiz. Sally will be missed by us all and our love and thoughts go out to Frank and his family.
James Laing led home the field in the fifth 5km training race of the season in a time of 17:32. Nikki Penty- Alvarez came home as first lady in third place overall in a time of 20:14. There were 31 runners, with some returning club members such as David Gaffney who finished in 21st place and new club member Tony Dobson finished in 30th place. As always a big thank you to race organiser Andy Torrance and officials Phil Welch, Gavin Collett, Charlotte Cox and Saffron Dobson. Paul Leppard hosted a challenging post race quiz and Chloe Charles kindly cooked a delicious meal. Thank you to the clubhouse team for their hard work on events such as these.
